Crowne Hill architectural approval & home improvement resources
Planning a change to the outside of your Crowne Hill home? This page is a plain-English starting point based on the Temecula Crowne Hill Community Association’s current architectural process. It is not legal advice and does not interpret the CC&Rs or the architectural guidelines.

Please note: CrowneHillEvents.com is an independent community resource and is not the Temecula Crowne Hill Community Association. Architectural requirements, forms and decisions are controlled by the Association. Always confirm current requirements with MyCrowneHill.com or Avalon Management before starting a project.
In plain English
The Association’s application process
The official Crowne Hill Architectural page lays out its application process in five steps. Here is a plain-English summary of each one. Use the official page for the exact current requirements.
Step 1: Plan your project
The official Architectural page asks homeowners to consult the Architectural Guidelines while they plan, and lists the guidelines (setbacks, heights and materials), the ADU/JADU policy, tips for architectural approval and the approved paint schemes.
The Association currently states that exterior home improvements — for example painting, landscaping, fences and hardscape — need Architectural Committee approval before work begins, including repainting in the same color. Its FAQ lists routine touch-ups in the exact original color, interior changes (other than an ADU/JADU), tree trimming and stucco patches as examples that don’t need an application. If you’re unsure, ask the Association before you start.
Step 2: Prepare your architectural application
The Association currently states that its Architectural Application is required for all submittals. The official Architectural page lists what to include: the signed application, a Neighbor Statement, two sets of plans or drawings, site photos, the Paint Location Diagram Form for exterior painting, and samples or brochures where applicable.
Download the forms from the official Architectural page so you have the current versions.
Step 3: Submit your architectural application
The official Architectural page currently lists three ways to submit: through the Avalon homeowner portal (listed as the preferred method), by email or by mail. The current portal steps, email address and mailing address are on that page.
Step 4: Architectural Committee review
The Association currently states that the Architectural Committee will issue a formal decision within 30 days of receiving a completed application, and advises not to start work or schedule contractors until you have written approval. Applications are reviewed case by case; the Association’s FAQ explains how to appeal a denial.
Step 5: Completion and verification
The Association currently asks for a Notice of Completion, with photos of the finished work, within 30 days of finishing, and states that approved projects generally must be completed within six months of the approval date. The form and instructions are on the official Architectural page.
